YOUNG INNOVATORS LAB

Visiting the Fashion for Good Museum is also a fun activity for kids. We have developed cool games like a material bingo or treasure hunt!

But for the curious minds there’s the Fashion for Good Young Innovators Lab, a special programme where kids get introduced to sustainable fashion and the solutions and exciting developments that will change the industry in the future.

We have a few activities available, that are designed to be as fun and interactive as possible for 6-12 year olds and are able to be taught in Dutch and English. Here, the kids or innovators and designers of the future as we’d like to call them, can celebrate their birthdays, attend workshops or join educational programmes.

Young Innovators Lab once a month

The Young Innovators Lab opens its doors every last Sunday of the month from 12:00 to 16:00. During these hours kids can participate in exciting interactive workshops. These workshops are inspired by the current museum theme that runs in the FFG Experience, the theme is a subject zooming in on a sustainable topic, meaning the activities vary a few times per year so you can come back and keep learning all year round.

The museum supervisors have all the tools ready. Click the ‘tickets’ button to book a spot in our next Young Innovators Lab on November 29th!

NOVEMBER YOUNG INNOVATORS LAB: Create a zero-waste pattern puzzle!

Our current museum theme “A Cut Above”, shows visitors how we can reimagine the way our clothes are designed, made and worn, and features brands who are approaching their design process in a different way. Creating a sustainable garment is not only about which fabrics being used, it’s also being mindful of all of the steps taken in the production process.

Did you know that many decisions made in the design stage affect how sustainable a garment can actually be? And that nearly 15-20% of all material used, ends up on the cutting room floor? That’s crazy right? We challenge you to do this differently!

During this workshop we will show you what a pattern actually is, and how you can make a design without having any waste, through a ‘zero-waste pattern’. All the parts of the pattern are cut out, so you can make your very own sustainable design and create something new!

The duration of this workshop is approximately 1,5 hours. To attend this workshop please click the ‘tickets’ button in the corner of your screen to reserve a time slot and purchase a Kids Workshop Ticket (€10).

During this workshop parents and supervisors are welcome to visit the full Experience and exhibitions we may have on at that moment.
