We've just launched our latest museum exhibition - Patchwork 2020 by Dutch designer Tess van Zalinge! The exhibition has been fully upcycled, digitally and physically created and approaches sustainability in a new way, a perfect match with our current theme at the museum 'A Cut Above' in which we look at the many ways that we can design, make and wear fashion differently.
In order to share as many insights as possible behind the development of the Patchwork 2020 collection, We have created three opportunities to learn from the designer, through small exclusive tours given in person by Tess van Zalinge herself at our museum. This is a unique moment to walk through the full exhibition with Tess, see everything up close and ask lots of questions!
After exploring the four phases of the exhibition over two floors, the tour ends with an opportunity for you to co-create a patchwork with Tess! Together with Designer Floor Nijdeken and Projectbureau-x, Tess has created an installation especially for Patchwork 2020, where visitors to the museum can work together on a patchwork. In this way, anyone can contribute to a new demi-couture piece which Tess will finish after the exhibition; a symbolic gesture to how we can change the industry together.
