HIRING: Innovation Programme Lead


Position: Innovation Programme Lead – Plastics

We seek a Programme Lead who will run a dedicated programme to address the plastics challenge in the footwear and apparel value chain. Your challenge will be to drive the transition to a circular fashion industry and eliminate waste, which our partner brands have defined as a key priority. You will be responsible for project management, building an innovation overview, scouting and screening innovations, developing and performing design-thinking workshops and hackathons in a multi-stakeholder environment. The Innovation programme lead – Plastics will be part of the Fashion for Good innovation team.

Key responsibilities include:

Research and Landscaping

  • Assess and document the status quo in terms of plastics streams in the footwear and apparel supply chain
  • Assess and document existing solutions and best practices implemented
  • Develop a baseline across key geographies
  • Develop thought leadership deliverables on these topics to present to our partners

Scouting, screening and solution finding

  • Scout and screen innovators (start-ups) to further strengthen our scouting database in the defined focus areas.
  • Monitor and attend topic related events
  • Establish and manage relationships with key technology and research institutions around the world (e.g. academia, multi-stakeholder organisations, governments, incubators) to support innovation and best-practice scouting efforts
  • Develop solution roadmaps together with our Corporate partners

Implementation planning and knowledge dissemination

  • Define pilot and implementation plan for identified solutions and innovations
  • Facilitate roll out and dissemination across key stakeholders and geographies
  • Document findings and produce thought leadership in the form of reports, case studies and other assets and tools, and help disseminate to key stakeholders and audiences.

Project management and communications

  • Define project roadmap (objectives, timelines, key activities)
  • Define and organise stakeholder involvement
  • Develop and facilitate workshops (design thinking, hackathons) and other events
  • Work closely with Fashion for Good team members, partners, relevant ecosystem players



The ideal candidate has a relevant track record and combines strong interpersonal skills with a self-starting, pro-active attitude. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Demonstrated project management, analytical and research skills
  • Capacity to adapt to different work environments, easily navigating different cultures and organisation settings
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative thinking with the ability for sound judgementand accountability
  • Pro-activeness, enthusiasm, can-do attitude, comfort in dealing with uncertainty

The following experience is a plus: relevant work experience (approx. 3 years), e.g. in management consulting, sustainability, the apparel or plastics industry, an entrepreneurial / start-up setting


Academic degree preferably within business, economics, material science, textile engineering.


Proficiency in English is a requirement.
