We seek an Analyst who will be responsible for scouting and screening innovations, performing due diligences and assessing and executing investment propositions from the South Asian region. The focus areas for scouting will be alternative raw materials, fabric and garment production (i.e. dyeing, finishing & cut-make-trim), end-of-use (recycling/upcycling), new business models as well as transparency and traceability. The Analyst will be part of the Fashion for Good innovation team and will predominantly be working from Fashion for Good’s Mumbai office while supporting the global team based in Amsterdam.

Key responsibilities of the Analyst include:

Scouting and screening

  • Constantly map and update the landscape of innovators (start-ups), to further strengthen our scouting database in the different focus areas.
  • Scout and screen innovators (start-ups) according to Fashion for Good’s established screening framework

Managing innovation relationships

  • Monitor and attend events where appropriate to maintain a healthy pipeline of innovations
  • Establish and manage relationships with key textile technology institutions around the world (e.g. academia, governments, incubators) to support start-up scouting efforts
  • Identify opportunities to expand our scope and establish relationships in different areas and geographies
  • Manage our alumni network of innovators

Evaluating investment opportunities

  • Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities
  • Perform financial and impact analysis and provide investment recommendation
  • Support portfolio management

Supporting Innovation team

  • Assist Fashion for Good’s Global Innovation Managers in supporting innovators in their efforts to scale
  • Support the due diligence processes conducted prior to accepting innovators in the Scaling Programme
  • Support the coordination of potential innovation events to be organised by Fashion for Good


The ideal candidate has a relevant track record and combines strong interpersonal skills with a self-starting, pro-active attitude. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Capacity to adapt to different settings, easily navigating different cultures and organisation settings
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative thinking with the ability for sound judgement and accountability
  • Pro-activeness, enthusiasm, can-do attitude, comfort in dealing with uncertainty

The following experience is a plus: relevant work experience (2-4 years), e.g. in venture capital, impact investing, management consulting, sustainability, the apparel industry, an entrepreneurial / start-up setting,


Academic degree preferably within business, economics, finance, textile engineering, materials science, biotechnology.


Proficiency in English is a requirement.
