HIRING: Financial Controller for Fashion for Good

Within a short timeframe of less than 3 years, Fashion for Good has established itself as the go-to platform for sustainable fashion innovation on a global level.
We seek a Financial Controller who can undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial analysis and reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, cash-flow management, development of financial plans as well as refinement of internal control policies and procedures. A willingness to operate in a dynamic fast paced environment is a must. Strong mission-alignment towards sustainability is preferred.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and control cycle

  • Oversee all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Accounting for Investments and Revenue Recognition
  • Coordinate and execute the preparation of the budget and longer term financial forecasts and report variances
  • Assisting in coordination and preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual closing reviews
  • Oversee and execute cash flow management, treasury and payments
  • Support financial planning and modelling

Internal control and compliance

  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Monitor contracts / agreements and ensure accurate execution
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Refine and document financial processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls


The ideal candidate has a relevant track record and combines strong interpersonal skills with a self-starting, pro-active attitude. The following qualifications are essential

  • Proven working experience as a Financial controller; advanced degree in Accounting; chartered or certified (management) accountant designation preferred
  • 3+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience, ideally bringing the relevant experience for both Fashion for Good’s Dutch BV and its ANBI foundation
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles (Dutch GAAP and IFRS) and procedures as well as internal control procedures
  • Experience in management reporting, business planning, cash-flow management, treasury/payments; experience with Exact Online
  • Capacity to adapt to different settings and changing circumstances, easily navigating different cultures and organisation settings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical thinking with the ability for sound judgement, accuracy and accountability
  • Pro-activeness, enthusiasm and can-do attitude


  • Proficiency in English is a requirement.
