Position: Analyst Innovation Platform – Focus Asia

We seek an Analyst who will be responsible for scouting and screening innovations in key Asian countries to strengthen our presence in Asia. The focus areas for scouting will be alternative raw materials, fabric and garment production (i.e. dyeing, finishing & cut-make-trim), end-of-use (recycling/upcycling), new business models as well as transparency and traceability. The Analyst will be part of the Fashion for Good innovation team and will predominantly be working from Fashion for Good’s Amsterdam office.

Key responsibilities of the Analyst include:

  • Map the landscape of innovators (start-ups), to build a strong scouting database in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India and other relevant countries
  • Establish relationships with local innovators and screen these innovators (start-ups) according to Fashion for Good’s established screening framework
  • Support relationships with manufacturers, brands and partner organizations (e.g. The Mills HK, Forum for the Future, etc.) and develop new relationships as appropriate
  • Establish relationships with other key textile technology institutions in Asia (e.g. academia, governments, incubators) to support start-up scouting efforts
  • Support the piloting and implementation of currently supported innovations by Asian manufacturers
  • Support the coordination of potential innovation events in Asia
  • Increase industry and public awareness about Fashion for Good’s activities in Asia, including through relevant social media channels such as WeChat


The ideal candidate has a relevant track record and combines strong interpersonal skills with a self-starting, pro-active attitude. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Strong analytical skills and great attention to detail
  • Capacity to adapt to different settings, easily navigating different cultures and organisation settings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative thinking with the ability for sound judgement and accountability
  • Pro-activeness, can-do attitude, comfort in dealing with uncertainty
  • The following experience is a plus: relevant work experience (1-3 years), e.g. in in sustainability, in the apparel industry, in an entrepreneurial / start-up setting, in consultancy, in investment and/or in Asia


Academic degree preferably within business, economics, finance or science (e.g. chemistry, textile engineering, biology).


Proficiency in Mandarin and English are requirements.
