AMSTERDAM– Fashion for Good, a global initiative to make all fashion good, and The Infinited Fiber Company, a Finland-based textile chemical recycling company, jointly announce today that they will be collaborating through Fashion for Good’s Scaling Programme to facilitate change that is accessible, affordable and attractive for all. This collaboration demonstrates a shared commitment between The Infinited Fiber Company and Fashion for Good to fast-track sustainable innovation within the apparel supply chain.

Fashion for Good, an initiative launched with an initial grant by founding partner C&A Foundation, convenes brands, producers, retailers, suppliers, non-profit organisations, innovators and funders united in their shared ambition to reimagine the way fashion is designed, made, worn and reused. Its Scaling Programme helps companies scale by offering bespoke support and access to expertise, customers and capital. Fashion for Good hand-selected The Infinited Fiber Company from an extensive list of innovators driving for a more sustainable and circular textiles sector. The Infinited Fiber Company joins a list of companies that includes TamiCare Ltd, SoftWear Automation, ColorZen and Worn Again.

The Infinited Fiber Company has developed a process technology that can turn cotton-rich textile waste, paper and cardboard waste into new, cotton-like fibres for the textile industry. And not just once, but infinitely. The output is similar to viscose and can be recycled again and again without decreasing the quality of the fibre.  The technology can be integrated into existing pulp, dissolving pulp and viscose fibre plant.

As a Scaling Programme participant, The Infinited Fiber Company gains access to a network of technologists, scientists and industry experts, enabling it to accelerate the development and future adoption of its revolutionary textile recycling technology.

“The Infinited Fiber Company is developing a competitive and sustainable chemical recycling technology for the needs of the global fashion industry,” said Petri Alava, CEO of The Infinited Fiber Company. “We have a passionate team that is scaling up our technology to high-volume, industrial fiber production scale. But it is not only the technology scale-up we need. Fashion for Good has a great network of experts, investors as well as fashion companies. They can provide us with expertise on branding, raw material availability, sustainability assessment and material requirements in the textile industry. We expect that joining the Scaling Programme will substantially speed up our journey to successful market entry.”
