FASHION FOR GOOD EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES

Fashion for Good offers several educational programmes, for an engaging and inspiring experience that introduces a young audience to the world of sustainable fashion. We take students on a Good Fashion Journey where they can discover and learn about sustainability and the new technologies that are helping to shape the future of fashion. Our programmes are tailor-made for every age group and level with a strong focus on developing personal skills and responsible attitudes and behaviour towards sustainable consumption.

Primary Education Programme

Journey of a T-shirt

In the Journey of a T-shirt programme, students explore the value chain of a cotton T-shirt from farmer to consumer; learning about the production processes through hands-on interactive elements and challenging assignments. They’ll learn about the clothes they wear and where they come from, using the outfits they’re wearing on the day to discover the answers as well as the best way to care for their clothing and what to do with old items. They’ll explore their own fashion behavior, habits and the actions they can take to have a positive impact. 

Students will leave The Journey of a T-shirt programme with a deeper knowledge of:

  • The resources, materials and processes that go into making a single cotton T-shirt. 
  • The challenges of today’s fashion value chain, unsustainable practices and the solutions needed to drive the transformation towards circularity.
  • An understanding of their own buying and consumption habits.
  • The simple actions they can apply in daily life to begin their own good fashion journey.

 

Practical information

  • Primarily education class 4-8
  • Capacity: approx. 25 students per class
  • Duration: 1.5 hours
  • Rate: €150 per class 
  • Includes access for two teachers or supervisors

 

What do you receive?

  • Access to the museum for the entire day
  • The Fashion for Good passport, an assignment booklet

Secondary Education Programme

TAKE ACTION, CHANGE FASHION!

The TAKE ACTION, CHANGE FASHION! programme challenges students to become true changemakers. Exploring the Fashion for Good Museum, they will discover tips, actions and challenges, collecting them with an RFID bracelet to create their own Good Fashion Action Plan of simple, conscious and sustainable steps to kick start their Good Fashion Journey.   

 

During the TAKE ACTION CHANGE FASHION! programme the students will:

  • Gain an understanding of their own buying and consumption habits and how they can become a conscious consumer and be more sustainable in their daily lives.
  • Create an action plan to change their fashion behaviour through simple actions they can apply in daily life to begin their own good fashion journey.
  • Learn about the challenges of today’s fashion value chain, unsustainable practices and the solutions needed to drive the transformation towards circularity.

 

Practical information

  • For all levels and years of secondary education
  • A visit + guided tour of the museum and a processing lesson to perform in the classroom
  • Duration: 1.5 hours
  • Rate: € 150 per class
  • Includes access for two teachers or supervisors

HBO / MBO Students 

Good Fashion Journey Tour

In the Good Fashion Journey Tour, students experience the Fashion for Good Museum and discover the groundbreaking innovations and new technologies shaping the sustainable future of fashion. They’ll also analyse their own shopping behavior, create their very own Good Fashion Action Plan and commit to taking their first steps on their Good Fashion Journey.  

 

During this tour the students will: 

  • Learn about the challenges of today’s fashion value chain, unsustainable practices and the solutions needed to drive the transformation towards circularity.
  • How new innovations in technologies, practices and processes can create positive impact in the fashion industry.
  • How they can contribute to this change as a consumer and start their own good fashion journey. 

 

Practical information 

  • For MBO and HBO level 
  • A visit and tour of the museum with an experienced tour guide
  • Duration: 1 hour 
  • Rate: € 75 per group of 20 students on site and 25 virtual. 
  • Includes access for two teachers or supervisors

Teacher Pass

Fashion for Good Teacher Pass

The Fashion for Good Teacher Pass grants free access to the Fashion for Good Museum all year round, providing schools with the opportunity to learn more about the Fashion for Good educational programmes. Two passes are issued per school and are valid for the entire school year, giving the entire teaching staff the opportunity to be inspired by groundbreaking fashion innovations, become familiar with the concept of circularity and sustainability and learn more about how to actively communicate the importance of sustainability with students. The passes can only be issued to schools located in the Netherlands.

Cultuurbus

Visit the Fashion for Good Museum with the Cultuurbus

The Cultuurbus offers free transport by bus for Amsterdam based Primary Schools to cultural institutions in Amsterdam. The Cultuurbus is a Mocca project subsidised by the Municipality of Amsterdam.
